Early Years
James was born on January 31, 1935, in Dallas, Texas. Upon graduation from Adamson High school in 1954 he enlisted in the Army National Guard. He was stationed at Ft. Polk Louisiana where he worked his way to Staff Sargent during his service. James married his grade school sweetheart, Dorothy Massey on August 6th, 1954. They would go on to spend the next 69 years together. James and Dorothy were soon to be blessed with 2 daughters Pam and Judy.
Occupation
James picked up welding at a young age, he knew immediately this was a passion he would carry throughout his career. After years of learning the fabrication and welding trade he opened his own company, Awlfab Corporation. He and Dorothy spent countless hours growing the business. They were blessed with a great team of employees that strived to make the business a success. In 2000 they decided it was time to retire and enjoy life.
Passion
James was a man of God and truly loved his family. He has always been involved in Church where he was a deacon, Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir. James enjoyed hobbies such as baseball, softball and dirt track racing. He also had a love for shooting skeet, trap and sporting clays at Ellis County Sportsman’s Club. James made life long friends and was always willing to lend a helping hand. In the later years James took a lot of pride in his 17 acres in Waxahachie and loved to be out on the tractor mowing.
James was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Ann Mouser; father, Edgar Mouser; mother, Ruth Mouser; sister, Pat Cates.
James is survived by wife, Dorothy Mouser; daughter, Judy McCaghren; son in law, Jason McCaghren; grandchildren, Casey Dawson; Crystal Tollett; husband, Field Tollett; great grandchildren, Layla Tollett; Kylie Tollett; sister, Mary Jo Howes.
