Mr. James Louis Washington Sr.

James was a skilled plasterer by trade and the proud owner of James Washington Construction, where he built a reputation for quality craftsmanship and hard work. Although he officially retired in his mid-seventies, his passion for his craft kept him active, and he continued working on select stucco projects until 2019.

As an active and devoted individual, he greatly enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He found joy in hunting and fishing, restoring antique cars, and caring for his prized horses, which were a source of deep pride and fulfillment throughout his life.

James will be remembered for his strong work ethic, love of the outdoors, and devotion to those he held close.

James is preceded in death by his sons, Benny Gene Washington and Roy Lee Washington Sr. His parents, Leroy and Viola Washington; Brother, Robert L. Washington; Sisters, Lillie Mae Washington- Rodney, Evelyn Washington – Leonard, Dorothy Washington-Ware, Lorene Washington-Russell, Mary E. Washington-Byrd, Maude L. Washington Brown, Betty L.- Washington – Carter, Frances Wainwright Mattie V. Washington – Carter.

James leaves to cherish his wife of 64 years of marriage; Delores Washington his children; James Louis Washington Jr, Jeffery Dewayne Washington and Edward Delon Washington Sr.

Grandkids – Roy Washington Jr, Raven Washington, Bobby Washington, Laquindalyn Washington Chelsea Stark, Moses Berry, Donavyn Fordham, Demitri Curlin, Edward Washington Jr, Emery Washington Jordan Washington.

Sister Bertha M Washington, Erma J. Washington – Sims; A host of niece, nephew; cousins relatives and friends.

A visitation hour will be held at Singing Hills Funeral Home, located at 6221 University Hills Blvd, Dallas, TX 75241, on December 26, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The homegoing celebratory service will take place Greater Community First Baptist Church on December 27, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

The committal service will follow at Laurel Land Funeral Home, located at 6300 South R.L., Dallas, TX 75232, on December 27, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
