She was born on February 10, 1944, to Rockford Vance and Mary Ruth (Taylor) Gray Sr. in Dallas, Tx.
Jane grew up in Oak Cliff, Texas and graduated from Sunset High School in 1962 and, after earning a B.S. in Education she continued her studies at North Texas State University and earned a Master of Education in Early Childhood in 1975.
She taught at John Peeler Elementary School in Dallas, and eventually retired from Southwest Office Supply.
Jane enjoyed spending time with her friends at their monthly lunch meetings. She loved shopping and antiques and had a talent for finding beautiful things. She especially loved spending time with her granddaughter and attended many of her activities and events.
Jane is survived by her son Richard Besse Jr., his wife Cynthia and her granddaughter Emily as well as nieces (Hollie and Amy), nephew (Rocky), their spouses and children.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband Hans Tobehn, her brother Rockford Vance Gray Jr., and his wife Sally Gray, parents Rockford Vance and Mary Ruth (Taylor) Gray Sr., and step-father T.J. Barton.
