Janet Louise Farabaugh

Jan was born in McKees Rocks, PA on October 22, 1934. She graduated from Mercy School of Nursing and afterwards worked as an RN at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. She met Pat Farabaugh at a local dance and they were married June 2, 1956 and soon started a family. After a brief stint in Kansas City, the family settled in Dallas, TX in 1962. Jan and Pat were one of the first families to join the newly established St. Rita Catholic community. She was active in the women’s circle and volunteered in the school library. Jan had deep faith and steadfastly prayed for her family and friends as they faced life’s challenges.

In mid-life, she obtained a business associate degree from Dallas community college and joined family on trips to Europe, Australia and around the USA. She enjoyed music and dancing and took part in the local square and round dance community for many years.

She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, James and Jennie Drexler, her brother Charles Drexler, her husband Patrick, her son Eric and grandson Ryan Farabaugh.

She is survived by her sons Chris (Maria) and Mark (Annette) Farabaugh, daughters Megan Farabaugh and Erin Burgoyne (Jim) and daughter-in- law Gloria Ramirez Farabaugh as well as 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

She will always be remembered as a loving mother and a kind, generous friend.
