Janet spent her early childhood in Wolfe City, Texas, before moving to Dallas, where she shared a particularly close bond with her cousins, Betty and Annette. After graduating from Sunset High School in 1957, Janet and Annette set off for San Francisco, California, beginning what would be one of many adventures in Janet's life.
She went on to build a long and successful career, working first for Lockheed Martin in California and later returning home to Texas, where she spent 20 years with Texas Instruments before retiring.
Retirement gave Janet the opportunity to pursue one of her greatest loves: Ireland. She returned year after year, forming wonderful friendships and creating memories that she treasured. Ireland became a second home in her heart, and she continued making her annual trips until her health no longer allowed her to travel.
Janet was also very creative. A talented knitter and crocheter, she enjoyed making things with her hands, as well as canning and other crafts.
She was independent, creative, adventurous, and blessed with friendships that spanned many years and many miles. She leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, as well as dear friends..
