Janet DeNell Schutz (Mitchell) was born on October 24, 1933 and passed away on May 14, 2018. She was born in Port Arthur, Texas to John David Mitchell Sr. and Johnnie Helen Mitchell (Watson). Janet worked for many doctors throughout her career but most recently with White Rock Adult Medicine before she retired in March of 2015. The family would like to thank Dr. Yuen and nurse, Jim for their tireless efforts to help Janet throughout her illnesses. Janet was heavily involved in her church activities and loved her church family.
She would cook many meals for various events as well as coloring dozens of eggs for the annual Easter Egg Hunts. Janet was very passionate in helping others and always putting others before herself. Janet was always one to volunteer her house for family gatherings; she loved her family and loved spending time with them. Christmas was her favorite time of year not only for family but she truly understood the meaning of Christmas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Schutz, in 1990, and her eldest daughter, Sandra Lynn Taylor, 23 hours earlier on May 13, 2018. Survivors include her children: Susan Hatfield of Ft. Worth, Tx; Shari L. Bigger and husband Gary of Brownwood, Tx; Lisa D. Wofford and husband Benton of Bedford, Tx; Randy Schutz and wife LaTresa of Mesquite, Tx; Scott Schutz and wife Valerie of Mesquite, Tx. She had numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She’s also survived by her “babies,” her Pug, Samson, as well as her Mustache Parrot, Opie.
