

Janice Becker Haley joined her gracious Heavenly Father and Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 14, 2016, at the age of 93. She joins her beloved husband of 60 years, Lt. Col. William T. (Bill) Haley, who preceded her in death in 2004. She was born in Dallas, Texas on May 18, 1923, the daughter of Arthur W. Becker, Sr. and Orene Harris. and is survived by their daughter, Kathleen (Kat) Williams and husband, Jeff, two grandsons, Shaun Christopher Stewart and fiancé Tracy Muller of Denver, Colorado, Scott Haley Stewart and wife Michele of Dallas, and one Great Granddaughter, Haley Lyn Stewart of Plains, Montana. She is also survived by chosen daughter Gayle Baggett and husband Windell, and their children Kristi Baggett, Clark Baggett, wife Alicia, and twin great granddaughters Cooper and Kenley. Survived also by her brother, Arthur W. Becker, Jr., of Naples, Florida and nephews and their wives. Janice loved to travel, and had many opportunities to do so since Bill served our country in the US Army for 25 years. Janice was a graduate of Sunset High School in Oak Cliff, and also of Bible Study Fellowship International, serving as class treasurer for several years. She was PWA of Oak Cliff Assembly #67, ORG, Past Mother Advisor of Yokohama Assembly #2, Yokohama, Japan, ORG, Past Worthy Matron of Delta Chapter #824, OES, and held several appointments in the Grand Chapter of Texas, OES, including Deputy Grand Matron. She started her career at the Mercantile Bank in Dallas and retired from the U. S. Office of Education in Dallas. Janice love to sew and quilt in her quiet time. When she moved with her daughter to Sulphur Springs, she attended Grace Family Church. Janice will be remembered for her beautiful smile. Her gracious, loving and generous spirit will be missed by all who loved her. Visitation will be at Laurel Land Funeral Home on Saturday, November 19, 2016, from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Funeral will be at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel on Sunday, November 20, 2016, at 2:00 pm. Brother Bob Matthews will be the officiating minister. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church of Oak Cliff or the Alzheimer’s Association.
