JD Hudson was born on September 22, 1918 in Runnels County, Texas and was blessed with 101 years of life. He left this earthly home on October 29, 2019 to be with his Lord and Savior. JD was raised by his parents John Franklin and Sarah Elizabeth Hudson in Lamesa, TX. He joined the army during WWII and made the ranks of a Staff Sergeant. He married the love of his life, Charlie Faye Bowles in 1939 and the couple had three beautiful children together. He graduated from Jacksonville College in 1954. He pastored Baptist Churches for 38 years in Texas but preached until he was in his 90’s. In JD’s spare time, he enjoyed; gardening, reading and studying the bible, catching up on the news in the Dallas Morning News, staying up on politics, and watching the Houston Astro’s. He enjoyed time with his family most of all and they will always remember him as a devoted husband, loving daddy, a wonderful Big Gran, and a faithful servant of the God.
JD is preceded in death by his parents, adoring wife, Faye; Son, Jimmy, 2 sisters and 3 brothers; and son-in- law, Phil Simons.
He is remembered by; 2 daughters, Gloria and husband Ron Chesser, and Ann Simons; two grandchildren, Stephanie Coleman, Ronda and Husband Greg Porter; four great-grandchildren, Heather Coleman, Jared Porter, Kristin Loughmiller, and Elizabeth Buford; seven great-great grandchildren, David, Jonathan, Hudson, Ford, Emma, Jovi, and on her way, Roewan.
