

Jeffery D. Flick left this world into the arms of God on Friday, July 8, 2016. He was born on November 25, 1978 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Charlene and Dan Flick. He was raised in Tulsa and attended Monte Casino, Cascia Hall, and Memorial High School. After high school graduation, he joined the U.S. Marine Corp. While a member of the Marines, Jeff served on the 13th MEU First Response Team to the U.S.S. Cole bombing in Yemen. He was a weapons expert and assisted as a member of the Security Detail for the FBI investigations of the bombing. His unit achieved meritorious and Presidential citations.
Following the Marines, Jeff attended Santa Barbara City College where he completed 2 associate degrees before returning to Oklahoma to become an official OU Sooner. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with degrees from the Price School of Business in Economics and Entrepreneurship and Venture Management. While at OU, he served as the Vice President of the Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization and as a teaching assistant for OU’s MBA Entrepreneurial Studies Program. His love for horses led him to become a member of the OU Polo Team where he played and served as Chief of Operations.
After graduation Jeff started his post university career in the Chicago financial markets, where he worked for Peregrine Asset Management. Flick created and developed the firm’s business development practices and new client acquisition strategies. He was also responsible for the economic and performance analysis of their proprietary trading strategies. While in Chicago, he also obtained his U.S. Polo Association Umpire certification and umpired games in Naperville, IL. Following Peregrine Jeff joined Merrill Lynch in Tulsa for a brief period prior to joining his Father at Infinity Financial Group in 2011. That year in Tulsa he was selected as a member of Tulsa Business Journal’s “40 under forty”. In Tulsa he worked diligently to revive polo and was instrumental in starting the Arrowhead Polo Club at Mohawk Field, while continuing to work for Infinity.
In 2015, Jeff relocated to the Dallas area to be closer to his family. He quickly sought out the closest polo club and joined Prestonwood at Oak Point where he played polo and trained horses He continued working with his father until he recently began pursuing a 2nd career learning the construction management business.
In addition to polo, Jeff was an avid and skilled outdoorsman with a passion for duck hunting with his beloved Labrador Retriever, Romeo and fishing. He also dearly loved sports and enjoyed helping with his nephew’s baseball and soccer practices. He was fun-loving and rarely missed an opportunity to hang out with his family whether that be sharing laughs over a good bottle of pinot noir or watching OU football. His presence and smile would light up a room.
The family would like to thank Donate Life America and the doctors and nurses at Plano Presbyterian for their care and support that allowed Jeff to fulfill his wish to be an organ donor. Jeff is survived by his parents Dan and Charlene Flick, Dallas; his sister and brother-in-law Cary and Brian Vigil, Dallas; his niece and nephew Rachel and Ryan Vigil; Labrador, Romeo; uncles and aunts, Mike and Jennifer Flick, Tulsa; Patrick and Alicia Flick, Dallas; Terry and LeeAnn Flick, Avon, Indiana; Tim and Sharon Flick, Tulsa; Charles L. Martin, Muskogee, Ok and 11 cousins, coast to coast.
Viewing will be at Sparkman/Hillcrest in Dallas on Wednesday, July 13, from 5:00-9:00p.m. Services will be held Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 11:00a.m at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Dallas, TX.
