

Our beloved Jerry Clark Hardison passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by friends and family on October 6, 2010. He was born on July 24, 1930 in Personville, Texas to his parents, Leonard Clark and Donie M. Hardison. He was the youngest son of eight children. In 1952 he enlisted in the USAF stationed in San Antonio, Texas, where he also attended and graduated from Trinity University. As a Lieutenant, Jerry met and married JoAnn Reed the following year in 1953. His first daughter Terry Lynn was born on June 29, 1957. JoAnn and Jerry were married for 18 years before her passing from breast cancer in 1971. In 1959, Jerry Co-Founded and was President of Lone Star Container Corporation for fifty years, which the company is still successful to this day. Lone Star Container is a leader in the sheet plant industry and over the years has developed other associated companies such as Drake Container, Dixie Reel, Capital City Container, Savway Carton Forms, and Apollo Paper Company. Jerry was also an active member in AICC. On July 21, 1973 he married Linda Harlin and they remained married for 37 years. In 1980 Linda and Jerry joined Lovers Lane United Methodist Church and were faithful members for 30 years. That same year on January 26th his second daughter Holly Ford was born and seven years following, his third daughter Paige Clark was born July 21, 1987. Over the years Jerry and his family enjoyed attending Lovers Lane United Methodist Church, school functions, and traveling. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman and was a passionate golfer, hunter, gardener and fisherman. Above all, Jerry was a true man of faith and his deeds spoke of his commitment to his Savior Jesus Christ. Jerry will be lovingly remembered as a man who was truly joyful about his personal gift of life from our Lord. His compassion and happiness spread far and deep, and will always remain in our hearts. The funeral will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 11, 2010 at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church. All donations honoring Jerry Hardison may be made to the Lovers Lane United Methodist Church Music Ministry. Arrangements under the direction of Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, Dallas, TX.
