Jesse was affectional known by his grandkids as Poppy. He will be missed for his kind heart and gentle spirit. He was so proud to show off his grandkids when he was around them. He loved playing bingo, making trips to Walmart, sending cards for birthdays, attending his grandkids events, spending time with our giant family and had an unexpected humor. Dad never knew a stranger. He was always ready to make buckets of hot sauce to pass out just because. He was always ready for an adventure. He was very dedicated to Margie until her passing. I (Rosa) will miss my partner in the kitchen. He was my Master Chopper for parties, with his knife tool box ready to go! Dad was a man of few words when it came to matters of the heart. I will miss him dearly and his words, “I love you too, honey”!
His Celebration of Life services will be held 2-5 pm Friday, May 13, 2016 at Calvary Hill Funeral Home with Father Patrick Olaleye of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Dallas officiating. The Liturgy of the Word will begin at 3PM. Following the Liturgy, Jesse's life will be celebrated by the sharing of favorite memories by his family and friends. Jesse will be cremated and his remains will be taken to Kentucky at a later date. Arrangements are by Calvary Hill Funeral Home.
