Jesse C. Cadena was born in Oakland, CA on May 5, 1964 to the parentage of Fred Cadena, Sr. and Augustina Cadena. He grew up in Milpitas, CA and graduated from Milpitas High School in 1982. After graduating high school, he attended Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix, AZ and received a technical degree in heavy equipment mechanics. He then moved to Irving, TX to begin a career as a heavy equipment technician at Darr Equipment Company now known as Holt Cat. He furthered his education by attending Texas Aero Tech School of Aviation in Dallas, TX where he received an Airframe and Power Plant certificate in aviation mechanics. He concluded his work career on May 31, 2023 when he retired from Holt Cat as a technical communicator.
Jesse is survived by Cynthia A. Cadena, his wife of 39 years; his daughter Ariel L. Cadena; his son Jesse R. Cadena, and his brother Frederic Cadena, Jr. Although Jesse was a bi-lateral amputee, he did not let that stop him from doing things he enjoyed such as tinkering in the garage, working on projects, and doing car repairs for the family. He handled his physical disabilities with grace, strength, and perseverance. His greatest achievement and pride by far was putting his daughter and son through college and seeing them become successful young adults in their respective careers as a nurse and IT professional. He will be dearly missed, but we can rest in the comfort of knowing that he is as free as a bird and no longer suffers from physical pain.
