

Jesse J. Pape passed away peacefully to be in the presence of God on August 14, 2012, at the age of 75. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to Adam F. Pape and Leonie White. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Evelyn Geraci. He is survived by Lorraine, his wife of 55 years, his son, Kevin and wife Connie, and his daughter, Gwendolyn Pape Shingshang and husband Charles. He was very proud of his grandchildren, Autumn, Ceciley, and Sabrina, as well as his great grandson, Jack.
It was at St. Bernard High School that he met his beloved wife Lorraine. He spent the rest of his life letting her know every day just how much he loved her.
He served his country in the U.S. Naval Reserves. In 1960, he moved to Dallas with his family. He retired from Western Union Telegraph Company after 32 years of service as an Electrical Technician.
In his early years, Jesse loved hunting, fishing and many outdoor activities. Eventually, his passions also included gardening, traveling, making people laugh and most of all, spending time with his family and friends. He never met a stranger. You could always tell where Jesse was by the laughter that followed. He loved meeting new people.
Jesse was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Visitation was at Grove Hill Funeral Home in Dallas on Thursday, August 16, 2012 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. with a wake service and rosary performed by Deacon Paul Powers at 7:00 p.m. A funeral service was performed by Deacon Powers at Sacred Heart Mausoleum Chapel in Rowlett on Friday, August 17, 2012 at 10:00 a.m.
