Jessie Humphries

Jessie Kelley Humphries went to be with Jesus Nov. 16, 2015. She was born Feb. 12, 1921 in Mt. Vernon, Texas. At the time of her death she lived in Arlington, TX with her daughter. In 1939 she moved to Dallas and married Jim Vernon Kelley in 1940. During WWII she worked for John E. Mitchell Co. as a defense contractor. After the war she stayed home and raised two children. She went to work for Gulf Ins. Co. in 1952 and retired in 1985. In her early life she taught Sunday School at Hampton Place Baptist Church for 30 years. Her husband Jim Kelley died in 1965 and she married Al Humphries in 1975. She and Al moved to Laguna Park, TX in 1987 where she was active in the First Baptist Church of Laguna Park. Her husband Al Humphries died in 1993 and she moved to Mansfield, TX in 2004 to live with her daughter. Services are at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel, Thursday, Nov. 19 at 2:00pm. Visitation is Wednesday Nov. 18 from 6-8:00pm. She is survived by two children; Trafton Kelley and Kathy Kelley Reed.; 4 grandchildren, Mitchell Kelley and his wife Debbie, Kym and her husband Jerry Glenn, Robert Kelley Hammons and his wife Kristin, Charles Wayne Reed and his wife Cassie; 9 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Konner, Kristin, Emily, Jessi, Chris, Hannah, Drew and Ryan.
