Jessie Lee - Coleman Moore

Jessie Lee Moore, born Jessie Lee Coleman, entered this world on July 3, 1944, in Gilbert, Louisiana. She was the daughter of a close‑knit family and grew up surrounded by the values of faith, hard work, and humility that would guide her throughout her life. She graduated from Wisner‑Gilbert High School in 1962, carrying with her a quiet determination and a gentle spirit that touched everyone she met.

After completing her education, Jessie began building a life defined by dedication and service. She worked in various roles over the years, most notably at Texas Instruments and later at the Dallas VA Medical Center. Her work ethic, reliability, and kindness made her respected by colleagues and appreciated by those she served. She eventually retired from the VA, closing a chapter of meaningful contribution to her community.

On March 23, 1966, Jessie married the love of her life, Louis Odell Moore, Sr. Their union was a partnership built on devotion, respect, and shared faith. Together, they raised two children, Louis Odell Moore, Jr. and Myashia Latrice Moore, who remained the pride and joy of her life. Jessie was also a beloved sister to Jesse Coleman, Charlie Coleman III, and Robert Coleman, all of whom preceded her in death, as well as Hattie Mae Green, Walter Coleman, and Milton Douglas (Sheryl) Coleman. Each sibling held a special place in her heart.

After marriage, Jessie was baptized into the Church of Christ, a commitment that shaped her life from that moment forward. Her faith was not loud or boastful — it was steady, sincere, and deeply rooted. She served her congregation with humility, and at one point, she taught Bible school to young children, planting seeds of faith in the next generation. Jessie lived her beliefs through her actions: kindness without expectation, generosity without recognition, and a quiet strength that never wavered.
