Dear Montes Kids, 
I'm finding it difficult to put into words what a blessing your Dad was to us Kysiak kids. Despite our numbers, we were always welcome at the Montes house where faith, love, patience, and tortillas were always plentiful; and let us not forget the Cowboy tickets:) The impact your family has left on ours is tremendous.  Your Dad touched so many hearts and he will be missed like no other.  For sure, God knew what he was doing when he steered our parents to Roanoke.

Mr Montes had a special love in his heart for everyone.  Sometimes when I would see him , he would take my hands in his and pray lifting my spirits beyond belief.  Then he'd say "did that help?"  So amazing.  I will never forget his kindness and generosity he gave to our family.  My condolences to his family ❣️

Mr Montes, Birdie, as he was known to us at St Ann's. He coached me from the 4th to the 8th grade. Will always remember him for his kindness and love of the game of basketball. My parents were God parents to his first daughter, Celina. He was a good friend to my parents and our family.  I will miss him. He taught us a prayer, that we said in church before every game. I still say that prayer and think of him when saying it. Birdie love.  

Your dad  attended the funerals of so many other beloved people of the parish. The highest praise I can say of him, was that he reminded me so much oh my dad, Phellip. They were kind, respectful, gentle where it counted and stern when needed. We lost him last year. I never read the comments. I probably should of read them, cause as I read comments for your dad, they are beautiful and probably would have helped. 

I always enjoyed Mr. Montes when there was a funeral for someone I knew.  Mr. Montes would give a story about their "Mission in Life".  I mentioned to him, "If I pass away before him, I would love for him to get up and talk about my Mission in Life.

When things use to go on at church events, when I was younger  my dad Jesse Almaguer would be helping out there.   If I could not see my dad, I would get worried thinking that I was lost, then I saw Mr. Montes (he was like a second father) he would ask, "What is wrong?  I told him that I could not find my dad.  He took my hand and stop what he was doing.  To help me find my dad.  

When I was younger I would see Mr. Montes he would say, "Hello" I would give him a big hug and even as I got older.  Because I always felt safe and he had this glow around him.  (like he was God).  I am so sorry to hear that Mr. Montes past away.  I know he went to Heaven and he was a new Mission to do now.

Mr. Montes,  I found this picture from my sons baptism and realized it was you who presented him to the church family.   You have been in my families life for many years.  You and my Mom Enedina Pena went to school at St. Ann's,  I remember you being at several reunions.   Then several years ago, you would come to pray with my dad  Frank Pena and give him communion every Sunday, and when he passed away, it was you who came to led the rosary for him.   I know my parents enjoyed your visits, you where so gracious in taking time to share memories and talk with them.     Prayers for you and your family.

I am so honored & blessed to have known such an amazing man like you. I am so glad my babies were able to meet their great grandpa & create memories with you. My Avaya loved going to see you with her grandpa & gammie. I have the best father in law in the world because of you. You & Carmen raised five beautiful, smart children who love & miss you both dearly. You were the best grandpa to Alex & I loved seeing his pictures all over your house every time I’d go & visit. Thank you for always being so loving & sweet to me, I will miss you forever, grandpa Montes. I promise to keep your grandson happy & raise my babies to always remember you. I love you. Rest in Peace. 

The loss of you is beyond measure for us, your five children.
You are with mom now.  
You have left us with the most loving memories, grace, and beauty anyone could ever give another person.  Thank you daddy!
