Jewell Swindle Brumfield was born January 1, 1923 in Hickory Plains, AR and passed away June 20, 2013 in Dallas, TX. Preceded in death by her husband, Cecil James; parents, Joe Sam and Bonnie Swindle; brothers, James “Jaybird” Arville Swindle, Kinley Swindle; sister, Lecha Mae “Madie” Richards, Lena Swindle and Goldie Richards. Jewell is survived by son, Joe Rickie Brumfield and wife, Sherry of Mesquite, TX; daughter, Judy Burkett and husband, Rick of Dallas, TX; son, Jimmie Brumfield and Connie of Dallas, TX; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; brother, J. B. Swindle and wife, Betty of Searcy, AR. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Grove Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2013 in the Grove Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made, in honor of Jewell Brumfield, to the SPCA, Make a Wish Foundation or any charity of your choice.
