

He attended Booker T. Washington High School and loved playing baseball in his spare time. At an early age, he accepted Christ. He joined Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church where he was baptized and served as a Deacon and in the Male Chorus. He married Frances Marie Richardson in 1958. Together they joined New Birth Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor George W. Pryor where he served faithfully as a Deacon. Jimmie had an impeccable commitment to hard work. He worked at LTV Vought where he later retired.
Jimmie was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He loved music, action movies, working in the yard and cleaning his cars. He loved to travel especially driving to New Mexico. After retirement, he enjoyed his morning routine visit to the Waffle House with friends and trips to the casino. He took great pride in taking care of his home and decorating for the holidays.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Jimmie Sr and Jennie V Norris, his wife Frances Pendegraft; sister Lola Lestrick, and son RoyLee Pentecost.
He leaves behind his children: Sherry, Debbie Fox (Steve-deceased), Jimmie (Lisa), Donna and Traci; Seven grandchildren: Mustafa, Kerrie, Donnesha, Jasmin, Jade, Jason and Nicholas; 14 great-grandchildren; God daughters: Tosha and Callie. Daughter, Marcella, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
