

Jimmy was raised in Watonga, Oklahoma, attended the University of Oklahoma, and graduated from Central State College in 1961. He married Lela M. Ingram in 1962 and had two children. He was a senior accountant at Enserch Energy, where he worked for over 20 years.
In his spare time, Jimmy enjoyed chocolate & milkshakes, watching sports, playing fantasy football with his family, and playing dominoes. In his youth, he enjoyed wrestling and tennis. He was the vice president of the Glee Club and participated in the mixed chorus.
His family and friends will always remember him as a hard-working, loving father, grandfather, and husband. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lela, and son, John DeBock. He is survived by his daughter Carol Black, grandchildren, Kenneth Black and Katherine Polanco, great-grandchildren, Lilly and Abigail Polanco, sons-in-law(s) David Black and Julio Polanco, nephew Matthew Vandiver, niece Suzanne Beaty, extended family and friends, including Marla Shinpaugh Graham, John & Neosha Macky, Hannah Shuffler, and Cynthia Jones.
A visitation for Jimmy will be held Wednesday, October 1, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. A rosary will occur Wednesday, October 1, 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. A graveside service will occur Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228.
