Jimmy Dwayne Stovall Jr.

Jimmy Dwayne Stovall, Jr., age 64, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024, in Dallas, Texas. He was born on July 25, 1959, in Dallas, Texas, to father, Jimmy Dwayne Stovall, Sr., and mother, Mary (Schreiner) Stovall. Jimmy, or Jim (as he was also known), was raised in the Big Town Estates neighborhood of Mesquite, Texas. He attended and graduated from Mesquite High School in 1977.

Taking after his father, he spent much of his working life in various accounting roles, and for the past 28 years, he worked as the Night Auditor for the Sheraton Dallas Hotel by the Galleria.

In his spare time, he was a lover and maker of music, both on instruments and vocally. A Christian, he attended Our Savior Lutheran church in Mesquite, Texas, for many years and was an integral part of the choir and music there. One of his greatest loves was singing whether in the car, at church, or at home, with accompaniment or solo.

Jim also had a handyman spirit like his father and loved collecting tools and materials to fix things around the house.

He is preceded in death by his father and namesake, Jimmy Dwayne Stovall, Sr.

Mourning his loss are his beloved mother, Mary (Schreiner) Stovall; brother, Jerry Stovall, and sister-in-law, Taniya Stovall; nieces and nephew, Ashley, Lindsey, and Mason; cousins, and others who knew and loved him.

He is loved and will missed immeasurably.

A visitation for Jimmy will be held Tuesday, July 2, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, July 3, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 411 N Town E Blvd, Mesquite, TX 75150. A committal service will occur Wednesday, July 3, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228.
