Jo Ann Rosenberg

Jo Ann Rosenberg of Dallas, Texas, peacefully passed away at home on June 7, 2026. Born November 3, 1930, to the late Sydney J. and Bertha Siegel Rubenstein, she married the late Everett M. Rosenberg on September 4, 1949, sharing more than 55 years together until his passing in 2004.

A devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great‑grandmother, and friend, Jo Ann’s greatest joy was her family. She treasured time with them, whether bringing everyone together or creating special one‑on‑one moments. She and Everett loved traveling with their family, and later she delighted in hosting mother‑daughter trips that created lasting memories.

Jo Ann was known for her kindness, creativity, generosity, and many talents. She loved gardening, decorating, jewelry making, and sharing those passions with others. Inspired by her parents, philanthropy became central to her life and a lasting gift to her family. She made everyone feel welcomed and valued, offering encouragement, help, or simply her time, leaving a meaningful impression on all who knew her.

She volunteered with many organizations, including Shearith Israel, Jewish Federation, JCC, BBYO, Girl Scouts, Scottish Rite Hospital, JFS food pantry, Vogel Alcove, and numerous community projects.

Jo Ann is survived by her children Nancy Melnick, Betty and Lee Brill, Laurie and Ken Rose, and Donna Rosenberg Stein; grandchildren Melissa and Ryan Kimbrell, Michael Melnick, Jennifer and Benny Zavadski, Traci and Josh Goldstein, Emily and Julian Williams, and Brian Rose; great‑grandchildren Ethan and Zoe Zavadski, Lev and Zane Goldstein, and Penny Williams; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, caregivers, and dear friends.

Graveside services, arranged by Sparkman/Hillcrest, were held on June 9, 2026, at Shearith Israel Cemetery and officiated by Rabbi Avi Mitzner. Pallbearers were Michael Melnick, Brian Rose, Benny Zavadski, Ryan Kimbrell, Josh Goldstein, Elan Kahalnik, and Michael Cohen.

Contributions may be made to the JFS Dallas Food Pantry, Congregation Shearith Israel (S.J. Rubenstein Fund), or Vogel Alcove.
