Joann Thomas was born on September 13, 1958 in Dallas, Texas to Bertha Mae Miller and Arthur Manuel Davis Sr. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1976. She worked at nursing homes as a dietary aid. She also worked at Dallas Lovefield Airport as a baggage handler and security agent for 2 years.
She was an active and dedicated member of Bethlehem Baptist Church for a number of years. Joann was so proud to call Pastor Harold Chism her pastor. She served as an usher and performed other duties for her church. Joann was very passionate about the Lord’s work. She loved the Lord to the end of the world and back. She gave her life to Christ at an early age.
Joann died unexpectedly at the age of 62 in Dallas, Texas.
She is survived by 3 sisters; Esther Roberson, Willie Tatum, Dannie Pritchett, her children; Antoinette Thomas, Laresha Thomas, LaQuinton Thomas, grandchildren; Brittney Thomas, Chazmine Gibson, LaQuavion McNeal, Quintecia Woods, Ciara Norton, great-grandson Daniel Portley III and a host of other relatives and friends.
Her children will remember her as a kind, gentle, patient, driven Mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
