Joe Henderson Callahan, born on June 3, 1942 to Rosie Lee Callahan & Eli Gatewood in Texarkana, Texas. He attended Dunbar High School where he graduated. He remained in Texarkana until he took that great leap of faith and moved to Dallas, Texas in 1969.
Joe worked for Mrs. Baird's Bakeries Inc, Methodist Hospital and Duncanville High School before retiring in Red Oak, Texas where he would enjoy fishing and barbecuing,
He is preceded in death by his Mother: Rosie Lee Duckett and Father: Eli Gatewood. Son: Joey Callahan and Daughter: Cassandra Callahan. 3 Brothers: Ardias Callahan, Henry Callahan and Edward Callahan.
Joe's Memory will be cherished and kept alive by his surviving loved ones: Sharmaine C. Griffin (Cookie), Daughter Janay Callahan, 2 Sisters; Mary E. Jones and Euralene Duckett, Step Brother: Glen Eddins.
Grandchildren: Janetra Callahan, Jonathan Callahan, Jerrell Callahan and Jaden Callahan. Niece's and Nephew's : Diana Callahan, Jeff Compton, William R. Jones, Rodney Jones, Lavette Duckett, Rahim Sloan and a host of other nieces, nephews and cousins. Also his fur babies: Bella and Fluffy
