He was born in Raymondville, Texas on December 31, 1947, to Maria Tristan de Herrera and Teodoro Herrera. He graduated from Crozier Tech and continued to receive a Restaurant Management Degree from El Centro College. He worked as a restaurant manager for Raphael’s Mexican restaurant for more than 25 years. He enjoyed classic rock music and baseball.
Joe Herrera is preceded in death by Teodoro Herrera and Maria T. Herrera. He is survived by his son Joseph Christopher Herrera, sister Juanita H. Hernandez, niece Judith C. Hernandez, grand-nieces Daniella and Camila Barahona, and other family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Calvary Hill Funeral Home, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, TX 75220 followed by a reception.
