Joe Wesley Potts

Joe was raised in Dallas, Texas. He married Donna Potts on July 14, 1978, in Dallas, Texas, and together they had two children.

For more than 31 years, Joe worked as a Truck Driver with Yellow Freight, a steady and honorable career marked by commitment, reliability, and pride in providing for those he loved.

Joe found joy in simple, meaningful pleasures—fishing, travel, football and baseball, carpentry, church, and, most of all, time spent with family. Those who knew him will remember a man whose generosity was quiet but constant, whose care for others came naturally, and whose outlook leaned toward gratitude and the good in life.

Joe was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Dale Potts; his brother, Gayle Potts; his sister, Sylvia Jo Potts; his grandparents, John Bice and Thessa Bice; his mother, Lelia Bice; and his father, Joseph Potts. He is survived by his wife, Donna Potts; sons, Joe Wesley Potts Jr., Kody Potts, and Kurtis Potts; daughter, Karen Kaye Potts-Waters; and sister, Lela Potts-Dyer.

Visitation will be held at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228, on June 25, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will be held at Grove Hill Funeral Home on June 26, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am followed by a Committal Service at Grove Hill Memorial Park from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
