Johannah was born in Beaumont, Texas on January 4th, 1944, to Petrus VanDyke and Mary Walker. She attended Lubbock High School and was married to Marvin “Rusty” Drury on January 26th, 1962; they were married until Rusty’s passing 32 years later.
Johannah worked as a Team Lead for Littelfuse (fka Teccor) for almost 30 years. She cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whether playing Wahoo, Rummy, or video games together. She also had a special love for animals, especially her dogs and cats, enjoyed classic TV shows like “Murder, She Wrote,” “Matlock,” and “Diagnosis Murder,” and was an avid reader—especially of the Harry Potter series and mystery novels. She was also a lifetime and faithful member of the Catholic Church, especially at St. Lukes and Holy Family in Irving.
Johannah is preceded in death by her husband Marvin “Rusty” Drury, her son Michael Wayne Drury, her mother Mary Thibodeaux, her father Petrus VanDyke, her brothers Auggie VanDyke, Joseph VanDyke, and Peter VanDyke, and her sisters Dorothy VanDyke and Rosemary Skinner.
Johannah is survived by her children Lori Dozier, Erin Dill, and Casey Baker, her grandchildren Matthew Dozier, Lindsay Dozier, Kelsey Dozier, Caleb Dill, Nicholas Dill, Avery Dill, Rusty “RJ” Sanchez, Kyra Sanchez, Makenna Sanchez, and Caelin Henderson, and her great-grandchildren Jason Bean, Noah Dozier, Annaleise Escobar, Mariana Sanchez, and Lucía Dill and other family and friends.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9am on April 9th, 2026 and committal will follow immediately thereafter at 10am at Calvary Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Johannah’s memory may be made to the SPCA of Texas.
