John Michael Carpenter

John M. Carpenter of Dallas died on May 16th at 3:00 P.M. For approximately 15 years, he endured with grace and courage his sufferings due to Pulmonary diseases. John was a native Texan born at the original St. Paul Hospitalon July 28, 1943. He attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help grade school and graduated from the original Jesuit High School on Oak Lawn Ave in 1961. He graduated from North Texas State University in 1966 with a degree in accounting. John's life work was in accounting. He worked for Sears Roebuck as a comptroller for 20 years. Next, he worked as a traveling auditor for Zales Corporation, followed by a similar position with the Bombay Company. John was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund D. Carpenter and Marie Gallagher Carpenter. Also preceding John in death in March of 2013 was his older brother, Edmund D. Carpenter Jr. John leaves behind to cherish his memory the following: Son and Daughter in Law, John Michael Jr. and Gail Carpenter; daughters, Catherine Marie Carpenter, Precia Graham, Nicole Keating and husband, John; Sister and Brother-in-Law, Ellen Carpenter and George Lyon; Grandsons, John "Jack" Michael Carpenter III and Luke Henderson Carpenter; Granddaughter, Cassidy Nicole Graham; Niece, Mary and husband Duncan Rogers; Very Special Friend: Sharon Aussicker; Very Special Cousin and Friend: Karen Northcott. John would surely thank his many relatives, friends, medical personnel who have provided their support, prayers and services during his lengthy illnesses. A Visitation will be held at Calvary Hill Funeral Home 3235 Lombardy Lane from 4:00-8:00 pm on May 19, 2014 and a Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 pm on May 20 North Chapel Mausoleum. Intombment to follow.
