

John will always be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. John was a kind and gentle soul. He is remembered for his honesty, integrity and his love for God and family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Naomi; three children, John Jr, Wendy (husband Gary Wojtaszek) and Janette; eight grandchildren, Tadjena (husband Daniel Douglas), Christian, Kaitlyn (husband Stefan Woort- Menker), Nina, Matthew, Johnny, Ryan and Nathaniel; two great grandchildren, Alison and Aaron; two siblings, Angel and Awilda Cordero; and many other nieces and nephews and a big family that love him.
John grew up in Puerto Rico but came to live in the Bronx, NY with his parents and siblings in search of a better life at age 17. There he met his high school sweetheart, Naomi and they were married in 1963. Together they raised their three beautiful children. John worked for Double Day Dell Book Company as a supervisor of accounts receivable for many years until his retirement at age 70. During his golden years he and Naomi moved to The Villages, Florida where he was active in Life Church Assembly of God and enjoyed times sharing a meal and playing games (dominoes, bachi, samba) with family and friends.
A memorial service will be held in The Villages, Florida on July 13, 2024 at 11:00 am at Lifechurch Assembly of God. Address: 4001 Picciola Road, Fruitland Park, Florida 34731.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are to be made to Compassion International to help a child in need gain the means to survive. John has faithfully sponsored a child, Jordine in Haiti, through this ministry.
