Officer John Grant Kipp passed away on August 30, 2023. He was the son of the late Carol and John T. Kipp of Dallas and the proud, loving father of his daughters Katie and Caroline. He loved his children, he loved his friends and he loved being a police officer. After growing up in Dallas he graduated from Clemson University where he spent many hours flying. He accomplished a lifelong goal by becoming a Dallas Police Officer in his mid-thirties and was a member of the Dallas Underwater Recovery Team. Katie and Caroline were his pride and joy and they spent many happy times together outdoors. Other mourners include his fellow police officers and coworkers, his friends and extended family, and Dusty the cat. Special thanks go to the Dallas Police Department and the Dallas Police Association who supported him so generously as his health declined and all elements of the Dallas Police Department who have supported his loved ones, especially his daughters, after his passing. His memorial service will be Friday, September 8 at 10:00 at the Church of the Incarnation, 3966 McKinney Ave, Dallas, Texas 75204.
