

A Time to be Born: On February 24, 1944, Bobbie and Sammie Lynn welcomed a happy baby boy into the family. He was very special, because he was the last child of nine children born to this union. To his family and friends, he was affectionately known as “Boo”. To others he was sometimes called “Blue”.
A Time to Learn: For the first years of his education, he attended Zion Hill School in Long Pine, Texas. He attended Bruce High School in his later years of education.
A Time to Love: He married Ella Vernice Carter. He later met Mary Mays in 1973, married her in 1976, and this marriage lasted until death they did part. John spent 40 years with Mary as his faithful and loving wife.
A Time to Work: John worked at Proctor & Gamble as a lab technician for 23 years and retired. He later worked at Maniheim Auction for 15 years and retired in 2013.
A Time to Live: He had a zest for life. He laughed a lot and had fun. He loved football, baseball, basketball, and fishing. He loved to cook too. One of his favorite hobbies was reading the newspaper and staying on top of current events. He had a passion for watching games and sports on TV. He loved spending time with his boys and his family and friends. He also loved the teachings of Joel Olsteen.
A Time to Mourn: He mourned the loss of his father, Bobbie Lynn; mother, Sammie Lynn; five brothers, Joseph, Jonathan, David, Isaac, and Jacob; his son, Eric Lynn; and many other aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are: his wife of 40 years, Mary Lynn; sons, Berry A. Lynn (Yolanda), John D. Hill (Donna), and J. Omar Wilkerson; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brother, Anderson Lynn (Barbara); sisters, Icer Ruth Lynn and Bobbie Ruth Lynn; sisters-in-law, Annie Lynn, Betty Lynn, and Goldia Mays; four brothers-in-law, Doran Mays (Wanda), Curtis Mays (Sherilyn), Carnell Mays (Faye), and Warren Mays (Denise); and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
