Now that the tears have finally stopped I can leave my comments. When I first met Dr. Maxey in 1999, I immediately said, I need to have another baby just so you can be my OB .. by 2002 I was pregnant and ready to start my journey, and what an amazing journey it was .. every appointment was filled with laughter and knowledge. Husband would just sit in the corner and laugh as Dr.Maxey entertained us. He scheduled my delivery so my mom could fly in and so I could have his hospital staff during delivery. 23 years later I still look back and say oh what a awesome delivery. He recommended the doctor that delivered my grandbabies,and the obgyn I have to this day. I could go on and one .. What an amazing human. He will be extremely missed!!! 😢I pray peace and comfort for his family.

So sorry to hear of his Dr Maxey passing , he was always a pleasure to work with and will be missed.

This came across my memories and had to share!

Dr. Maxey was an incredible doctor, but an even more incredible man. At 43, when I was preparing to have my second child, I reached out to him to see if he would be willing to be in the delivery room—since he had delivered my first, I couldn’t imagine welcoming my second without him there. He graciously said yes, as long as my current doctor was comfortable with it. Thankfully, she was.

When I told the nurses that he would be coming to assist with the delivery, they were more excited than I was. That spoke volumes about the kind of physician and person he was, and the legacy he left at the hospital in Irving.

He will be deeply missed, but his impact will never be forgotten. 💛

I was deeply saddened to hear of Dr. Tony Maxey’s passing. Tony was an amazing person and a remarkable physician—someone who truly loved life, his family, and the work he was called to do. His passion, leadership, and genuine care for others made a lasting impact on all of us who had the privilege of working with him. He will be deeply missed, and his legacy will continue through the many lives he touched. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and all who loved him.

To the entire Maxey family - It was an honor to work alongside Dr. Maxey at WellPoint.  He treated everyone with kindness, warmth and respect.  He connected with nurses on a deeply human level, always listening, always understanding and always leading with genuine care.  Dr. Maxey’s teaching style was calm and graceful.  He protected the dignity of nurses and displayed compassion and empathy for patients.  He always spoke of his family with the highest regard. He often used gentle humor, it was one of his many gifts.  Dr. Maxey was a very honorable man and he will be missed!

I had the honor of working with Dr. Maxey for the past several years. He was not only an exceptional physician, but a truly kind soul. He made each of us feel valued and supported and his humor brought light  to our days. The OB team will miss him greatly. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.

I had the pleasure of working with Tony for 9 years and he was just an amazing man. Although we were colleagues, i considered Tony a true friend. We bonded early on over Star Wars, Batman and Robin, and many other common interests.  He was kind, thoughtful, funny and caring. I am grateful to have known Tony and will miss him terribly. My thoughts, prayers and deepest condolences go out to the entire Maxey family.

To the Maxey Family - Mr.Maxey was such a big part of our lives as kids growing up in Coppell and being friends with Keith. He was such a humble person and ALWAYS made us all laugh. One of the most jolliest people I ever met. He stayed in touch with me even after highschool for 20+ years. He taught his Keith a strong work ethic and how to make it on his own. It's evident because Keith is an amazing dad and husband and we all know where he got that from. You will truly be missed, and hoping to have that cigar with you down the road.

Dr. Maxey was a guardian angel to our family. He saved my wife's life via a specialized diagnosis and subsequent surgery, delivered 3 of our children, saved the life of our oldest son during childbirth with his skill and quick thinking, and helped our family through a very difficult miscarriage as well. Few people have had such a direct impact on our family than him, and we will forever be grateful to him. 

May his family and loved ones feel peace and love at this difficult time. We send our sincere, heartfelt love and condolences.

Dr Maxey touched the life of everyone that was lucky to know him! He was kind, and truly genuine! He spoke of his family all the time!  We got to watch his grandbabies grow thru pictures and stories!
