John D. McMahon was born on October 25, 1935 in Fort Worth, Texas to John D. McMahon, Sr. and Ethel Hankins McMahon. He had an older sister, Vivian, with whom he grew up with in the north Texas area. After high school, John proudly served our country, and we are forever thankful for his service.
John married the love of his life, Linda Gaines in Fort Worth Texas. Together they raised two children, Chris and Phyllis.
John worked at UT Southwestern Medical Center until his retirement in 2001. John and Linda enjoyed traveling together. He especially loved camping trips and family beach vacations to Mexico, Jamaica and Texas coast.
John was a loving, caring husband and father and friend to all. He was patient, kind and understanding, and will be missed dearly.
On Monday, September 19, 2016, John was called Home. He was greeted in Heaven by his parents and his son, Chris.
His life will continue to be remembered and celebrated by his endearing wife of 53 years, Linda; his daughter, Phyllis; close family friends, The Robertsons; and those who had the privilege of knowing him.
