

John Myers was born on December 30, 1933 to Yvorne Myers and Duskie Hart. He grew up and attended school in Commerce, Texas. John was drafted into the United States Army and was stationed in both Louisiana and Texas. He later attended East Texas State University and graduated with a degree in Business. John then moved to Dallas to seek employment. Soon after this, he met Judy Coons, and they were married on June 28, 1968. He worked as a salesman for several wholesale companies and retired at Central Engineering after more than twenty years.
He continued to work part time for Sandpaper of Texas. During all these years, he was an avid bowler and enjoyed competing in numerous bowling leagues. He was a proud member of the Elks Lodge #71 and actively supported their philosophies. He was a well-respected family man with a great sense of humor and will be remembered by many.
John is survived by his wife of 48 years, Judy Myers; sons: Jeff Myers and Jason Myers, Daughter, Jennifer Brown and her husband Jeff; grandchildren: Ellie, Nolan, and Ryder; brothers: Bob Myers and his wife Lois, and Charles Myers; and a host of other family and friends.
