John Ross Tappan was born March 30, 1948 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. For the last 40 years, he indulged in his passion – drag racing – a sport he loved. He was the first driver for Time Warp Racing where he drove all 3 of their cars. He always qualified and won his last round of racing. John passed away on August 21, 2016 in Dallas, Texas. He is survived by his son Hugh, daughter Heather, grandchildren, and extended racing family.
