John was born on August 24,1947 to Royce and Altha Walters as the 100,000th baby at Methodist Hospital. He attended Roger Q Mills, Boude Storey, and Adamson High School, graduating in 1965. He later developed is own construction and remodeling business. He enjoyed working on cars and small engines. He was a member of Cliff Temple Baptist Church. Unexpected medical crisis led to his death on Oct. 29, 2018. John was preceded in death by his father, Royce Walters; his mother, Altha Walters, and his brother, Sam Walters. He is survived by his siblings: Sandra Vestal of Houston; Judy Miguez of Port Arthur; James Walters of Midlothian; and nine nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018 from noon to 2pm with funeral services at 2 pm, both at Laurel Land Funeral Home.
