

Jose Angel Zendejas, (also known as Jody or Gogi) went to be with our Lord and Savior on August 7, 2024.
Jose Angel was born August 2, 1938, in Laredo, Texas and raised by his grandmother Maria Villa Sr. They lived in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico and moved to Dallas, Texas when he was 9 years old. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1959 and proudly served. He began his basic training in Fort Hood, Texas and Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He successfully completed his services in Germany, where he trained in artillery during the Berlin crisis. During that time, he had the privilege to travel to France and Spain.
After being discharged, he married the love of his life, Lola Valdez on April 24,1965. He spent his career as a paper cutter operator and enjoyed his craftsmanship of woodworking and carpentry. Jose Angel retired in 2003 and loved to be outdoors gardening. His favorite past time was going to the casino any chance he could!
Jose Angel was a God-fearing man, devoted husband and loyal friend. He loved breakfast and taking long drives down country roads with his wife by his side. He had a funny sense of humor and if anyone needed him, he was always there and willing to help. He will be greatly missed by his family and treasured friends. Our love for him will live on in our memories forever.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Lola (Dora) Zendejas, goddaughter that he raised and loved so much, April Valdez and Edward Alvarado. Brothers Jose Luis and Fernando Zendejas, Sisters Manina Torres, Lali Lopez and Minnie Marin, many nieces and nephews.
