May 20, 1926 – March 9, 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mom, Josefa Fuentes, on Saturday, March 9, 2019.
Known to her loved ones as Chepa, Dona Pepa and Welita, she was born on May 20, 1926, in Mexico. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and wonderful friend to many. Gardening was her passion; her roses bloomed with love every year. Her loved ones would find her praying and reading her bible or cooking tamales and fresh flour tortillas.
Daughter of Francisco and Raquel Gonzalez, Josefa was survived by seven of her nine children: Sanjuana Ramirez, Maria de Jesus Fields, Gerardo Galvan, Merced Francisco Galvan(†), Ramiro Galvan(†), Gregorio Galvan, Jose Guadalupe Galvan, Ruth Polanco and Rudy Fuentes, Jr., and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Josefa was preceded in death by her first husband, Emiliano Galvan, and her second husband, Rudolph Fuentes, Sr.
Josefa loved her family and instilled in her sons and daughters strong values that continue her legacy. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
