Joseph Francis Lumsden III

Joseph F. Lumsden III of Garland, Texas passed away September 2, 2026 at the age of 89. He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Helga Lumsden, and his parents Joseph F. Lumsden II, and Helga Kraft Lumsden. Joe is survived by his brother, Jerry Lumsden, children, Monika Pierce, Jerry Lumsden, Melissa Garrett, and Jeff Lumsden, and their spouses, and many grand and great-grandchildren. He graduated from Hillcrest High School and went on to serve in the United States Airforce where he met his wife, Helga. Joe's enduring career spanned nearly fifty years - from managing a 7/11 store, to warehouse manager with RiberGlass/Ashland Oil, he was a dedicated worker. Joe was a big Cowboys fan. He enjoyed working on cars and the many camping trips with his kids and grandkids - especially at his favorite place: Fort Davis in West Texas. In retirement, he spent his time bowling and taking trips to the Oklahoma casinos. Joe appreciated music of all kinds, but his absolute favorite was John Denver. His affinity for storytelling and his humorous nature will be sorely missed.

Graveside service will be at 11 AM October 17, 2026 at Grove Hill Cemetery.
