My condolences to the entire Murphy family. Joe introduced me to Masters Track and Field back in 1983 and I traveled with him and others to my first indoor meet in Illinois and still compete to this day thanks to him. Joe was so entertaining and fun on track trips. May he rest in peace.

My sincere condolences to Jean and the family for your loss. As wonderful lifelong friends of my parents, Ralph and Meredith, Joe and Jean Murphy were an important part of the fabric of my childhood that I appreciate now more than ever. Reunited now with them, I know that Joe is smiling, laughing and telling stories in heaven.
