After completing his schooling in Jamaica, Joseph moved to Ohio at the age of 19. He lived and worked in Ohio before moving to London, England for a few years. It was in London where he met and fell in love with Christine Denton. The two traveled before settling down for a time in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Joseph and Christine were married on August 31, 1974. The union produced two children, Antoinette Garrow and Andrew Garrow. Joseph and Christine continued to travel until finally establishing Dallas, Texas as their home.
While in Texas, Joseph put his education and welding knowledge to good use at Garden & Denver. After many years, Joseph changed careers and began working for American National Insurance Company. He was always the one to improve upon himself and went back to school for a certificate in air conditioning. After finishing at the top of his class, Joseph was recruited by Kahn Mechanical Contractors where he worked until he retired.
In his leisure time, Joseph really enjoyed exercising, often walking around the neighborhood park daily. He loved cooking for his family and loved ones, cooking countless Sunday Dinners. Joseph also loved watching sports, especially football. You could always find him in front of the television on any given Sunday watching his beloved Dallas Cowboys.
Joseph was an avid member of Concord Church, where he was a member for over 20 years. He was also an active participant in the Bible Study Fellowship Group.
Joseph departed this life on Tuesday, October 27, 2020.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Christine Garrow; daughters, Dorothy Garrow, Sonia Garrow-Lewin, Jacqueline Garrow, Norma Garrow, Antoinette Garrow and a son, Andrew Garrow, granddaughter Eanna Garrow, Sister in Law, Shirly Denton, Imogene Denton, Brothers in Law, Bill Denton, Joseph “Celvin” Denton, Austin Denton. In addition, he leaves a host of nieces and nephews and grandchildren.
