Joshua Ethan Dickey

February 5, 1980 – February 14, 2022
Obituary of Joshua Ethan Dickey
IN THE CARE OF

Calvary Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery

Joshua Ethan Dickey, age 42 of Dallas, TX passed away on February 14th, 2022 in Plano, TX. A memorial service will be held on February 26th, 2022 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Dallas, TX at 1:00pm. Services will also be streaming at https://stlukesdallas.org. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Josh was born in Dallas to Bob and Linda Dickey on February 5th, 1980. He attended Greenhill School and, like a true Dallasite, was a lifelong Mavs, Rangers, Stars, and, of course, Cowboys fan.

It is impossible to summarize one’s life, so we will focus on what Josh loved. Josh’s true passion in life was music—nothing, other than his children, meant more to him than that. Josh first got a taste for music by playing trumpet in high school, which quickly evolved to teaching himself to sing and play guitar, which he absolutely loved. For the rest of his life, Josh could be found performing. He was known as a deeply honest songwriter and an electric performer, and he will always be remembered for how he could move a crowd.

Josh is preceded in death by his grandparents, Basil and Mary Jane Young, and Riley Webb Dickey and Elizabeth (Betty) Brumbaugh.

Josh is survived by his two wonderful children, Xavietta and Tristian, his parents, Bob and Linda, his sister, Rachael, and countless friends and family members.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.calvaryhilldallas.com for the Dickey family.
