Joy is survived by her four children, Marvin Slovak, Jr., Robert Slovak, Paul Slovak, Michelle Slovak; her eleven grandchildren, Andy Scholes, Megan Hughes Watkins, Ashley Slovak, Joshua Hughes, Matthew Slovak, Hailey Slovak, Shea Slovak, Joseph Slovak, Justin Slovak, Stone Slovak, Sadie Slovak; and her five great grandchildren, Camden Scholes, Beckett Scholes, Nolan Scholes, Avery Hughes and Lilah Watkins.
Joy was preceded in death by her parents Joseph Carter and Doris Carter; her husband Marvin Slovak, Sr.; her daughter Jill Slovak; her granddaughter Elizabeth Slovak.
A rosary for Joy will be held Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Calvary Hill Cemetery North Chapel. A mass of Christian burial will occur Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at 1:30 PM, at Calvary Hill Cemetery North Chapel. A committal service will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, Texas 75220.
Serving as pallbearers are Andy Scholes, Joshua Hughes, Matthew Slovak, Joseph Slovak, Justin Slovak and Stone Slovak.
