Judge Darlene Ewing was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Richard Carroll Ewing and Alpha Ann Ewing at the Navel Base. Soon after, the family moved to California where Darlene spent her childhood, moving to Robstown, Texas, in High School. She graduated from Robstown High and went to college at East Texas State University, moving on to law school and graduating from the University of Texas.
Darlene started her career in Dallas County in the Child Support Office, later building her own family law practice. Darlene was sworn in January, 2017, as District Judge in Court 254, where she served until her death.
Along with her career, she served for ten years as Dallas County Democratic Chairperson, playing a huge part in turning Dallas County blue.
Darlene had a great love of politics and bettering her community. She gave to multiple charities generously and spent many hours volunteering.
Darlene is preceded in death by her father, Richard Carroll Ewing. Her surviving family members are her mother, Alpha Ann Ewing, her sister, Bonnie Gail Fallin, her aunt, Roberta Thurmond and nephews, Richard Nathan Cargill, Chad Edward Cargill, her nieces, Kelly Lynn Isenberger, Alexis Whitney Fallin, her great-nephews and nieces, Mike Cargill, Cameron Cargill, Mackenzie Cargill, Madison Cargill, Chloe Isenberger, Matthew Cargill, Morgan Isenberger, Emily Cargill, Coltyn and Cooper Athey and many loved cousins.
