Juan Carrion Sr.

Juan was raised in Dallas and attended Crozier Tech. High School. He married Maria L. Carrion in 1984 and the couple had six children.

He was a social worker at City of Dallas where he worked for more than twenty-nine years along with ten years at Dallas County and eleven years with the Dallas Can Academy.

In his spare time, Juan enjoyed dancing with Ume every Friday, scratching lottery tickets, playing slots, playing loteria, spending time with his grandkids and watching their sporting events. His family and friends will always remember him as a Mr. Condom and Johnny.

He is preceded in death by father, Gregorio Carreon; mother, Lucia Martinez; grandpa, Eddie and grandma, Josephine; brothers, Henry Ruiz, Jr. and Ted Ruiz.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Carrion; children, Josephine Cortez and her husband, Joseph Cortez, Juan Carrion, Jr. and his wife, Delia Carrion, Juan Angel Garza and his wife, Angela Garza, Ruben Garza, Maricela Hernandez and her husband, Gabriel Hernandez, Lucia Galvan and her husband, Angel Galvan; seventeen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Rachel Jimenez, Florastella Ruiz, Rosalva Padilla; many nieces and nephews; along with best friend, Rudy Garcia.

A visitation for Mr. Juan Carrion Sr will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gonzalez Funeral Home, 3050 N Stemmons Freeway, Dallas, Texas 75247, followed by a prayer service from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM.

Juan Carrión Sr., de 72 años, falleció el Domingo 20 de Julio de 2025 en Dallas, Texas. Nació el 27 de julio en Dallas, Texas, hijo de Gregorio Carrión y Lucía Martínez.

Juan creció en Dallas y estudió en Crozier Tech. Se casó con María L. Carrión en 1984 y tuvieron seis hijos.

Trabajó como Trabajador Social en la Ciudad de Dallas durante más de 29 años, en el Condado de Dallas durante 10 años y en Dallas Can durante 11 años.

En su tiempo libre, Juan disfrutaba de bailar con Ume todos los viernes, raspando billetes de lotería, jugando a las tragamonedas y a la lotería, pasando tiempo con sus nietos y disfrutar de sus eventos deportivos. Su familia y amigos siempre lo recordarán como "Mr. Condón y Johnny".

Le precedieron en la muerte su Padre Gregorio Carreón, su Madre Lucía Martínez, su Abuelo Eddie y su Abuela Josephine, Hermanos Henry Ruiz Jr. y Ted Ruiz.

Le sobreviven: su Esposa, María Carrión; sus hijos, Josephine Cortez su esposo Joseph Cortez; Juan Carrión Jr. su esposa, Delia Carrión; Juan Ángel Garza su esposa, Ángela Garza; Rubén Garza; Maricela Hernández su esposo, Gabriel Hernández; Lucía Galván su esposo, Ángel Galván; y sus 17 nietos y 13 bisnietos. Sus hermanas, Rachel Jiménez, Florastella Ruiz, Rosalva Padilla y sus numerosos sobrinos y sobrinas y su mejor amigo, Rudy García.

El Velatorio del Sr. Juan Carrion se llevará a cabo el Miércoles 23 de Julio de 2025 de 4:00PM a 8:00OPM en la Funeraria Gonzalez, 3050 N Stemmons Freeway, Dallas, Texas 75247, seguido de un Servicio de Oración de 6:30PM a 7:30PM .
