Juan Hernandez Martinez

Juan Hernandez Martinez was born April 17, 1932, in Linares, Nuevo Leon Mexico. After a long 82 years of living, has come to pass on May 29, 2014 and is survived by wife, Luz Guzman Martinez and a beautiful family of 13 children, 21 grand children, and 13 great-grandchildren, sons, Victor Martinez, Frank Martinez, Joe Martinez, Freddie Martinez, Harry Martinez, Jaime Martinez, and Carlos Martinez and daughters, Yoli Medrano, Mary Cortez, Lucy Martinez, Lisa Martinez, Sandra Cantu, Selina Martinez. He was known for his musicianship, his hard work in construction, a father and husband, he will always be remembered to us all as, “Deddy”. He was a simple, soft spoken, yet very stern and authoritative man, with a smile that would light up the room. He didn’t dwell on the fact that he didn’t have much. As long as there was food on the table for his family and a roof over their heads, it was rewarding to him. He would also give you his last dollar if you needed it. Keeping things simple is sometimes the only way to get through life and that’s just what Deddy did. He lived, he laughed, he loved, he passed. We will miss hearing the sweet sound of his voice accompanied by the warm sounds of his guitar playing. He now lives to sing before God and forever live in our hearts. We Love you Deddy!!! A Visitation will be held on June 2, 2014 at Calvary Hill Funeral Home from 4:00 – 8:00 pm with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in his honor at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church on June 3, 2014 at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
