

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Juan Augusto Ruiz, at the age of ninety-two. Juan passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, May 19, 2025. Born on February 7, 1933, in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Maria Carmen Lopez Ruiz, along with his siblings, Carmita Ruiz, Libertad Marlene Torres Ruiz, his children, Augusto Mauricio Ruiz Rodriguez, Cumanda Lorena Ruiz Rodriguez, Gabriela Ruiz, Patricia Ruiz, Victoria Ruiz, Juan Augusto Ruiz (Juanito), Kathy Gutierrez Ruiz, Fabricio Ruiz, Sylvia Martinez, Ismael Martinez, Geneva Martinez, Willie Rivera, his grandchildren, Jonathan Mauricio Ruiz Melo, Rebeca Gabriela Ruiz Melo, Erick Antonio Ruiz Rodriguez, Allan Alexander Chavez, Ruiz, Jose David Sanchez, Maya Olivia Rajo, Aurelio Heriberto Rajo, Juan Augusto Ruiz III, Caleb Elias Ruiz, Daniel Santiago Ruiz, Josue Andres Ruiz, Natanael David Ruiz, Grace Isabella Ruiz, Alexus Mercedes Palomo, Christian Giovanni Gutierrez, Isaac Julian Gutierrez, Sydney Isabella Martinez, Arias Kennedy Rivera, Chris Penney, Steven Calvillo, Tiffany Calvillo, Armando Serrano, Leah Serrano, and his great grandchildren, Elias Ayende Sanchez, Isabella Victoria Velasquez, Nikki Penney, Gabriel Calvillo, Nevaeh Wilson, Courtney Wilson, Luca Serrano.
Juan is preceded in death by his loving parents, Juan Alberto Ruiz and Zoila Tello Ruiz.
Juan lived a passionate life, full of love, joy, and success. Those who had the privilege of knowing him will remember his immense love and generosity but also for the light he brought into every room with his smile and laughter. His love and devotion for his family was unparalleled. As he lived a life full of joy, he was affectionately known as "Aha" by his grandchildren. He treasured every special birthday and every holiday with them.
As a successful sales professional throughout his life, Juan was renowned for his unwavering love for his family and exceptional appetite for fine cuisine. Juan was celebrated and known for his extraordinary cooking expertise, and he cherished sharing authentic Ecuadorian homemade meals with his family. They were so delicious that everyone wanted to know his recipes. He had a deep passion for dancing, music, and traveling the world. He always held a strong affection in his heart for his homeland, Ecuador.
As we reflect on his life, let us remember the countless ways he brought joy and love into our lives. Juan taught us the importance of cherishing our loved ones, extending kindness to all, and living with courage, empathy, and generosity.

A visitation service is scheduled for Thursday, June 5, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and a funeral service will be held on Friday, June 6, at 2:00 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas.

Juan fue celebrado y conocido por su extraordinaria habilidad culinaria, y disfrutaba compartir comidas caseras auténticas ecuatorianas con su familia. Eran tan deliciosas que todos querían conocer sus recetas. Tenía una profunda pasión por la música, el baile y viajar por el mundo. Siempre mantuvo un fuerte afecto en su corazón por su patria, Ecuador.

Juan nos enseñó la importancia de valorar a nuestros seres queridos, extender la bondad a todos y vivir con valentía, empatía y generosidad. Se ha programado un servicio de visita para el jueves 5 de junio, de 4:00 PM a 8:00 PM, y un servicio funerario se llevará a cabo el viernes 6 de junio, a las 2:00 PM en Laurel Land Funeral Home en Dallas, Texas.
