She will always be remembered as a loving sister, aunt, cousin, friend and colleague to all that knew and loved her. She was born on August 31, 1964, in New Orleans, LA to Joseph and Lula Perriatt. Juanita enthusiastically served as a middle and high school teacher in New Orleans and Fulton county (Georgia) school districts. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in marketing from Xavier University of NOLA and two master’s degrees in education from Capella University. Juanita loved reading and learning. Her true passion was teaching and tutoring her students. Yet you could find her at any hip-hop concert encouraging and supporting local artists. She was a true conversationalist, with an infectious laugh. She actively listened to and genuinely cared for others. Juanita deeply loved her family and was very proud of her nieces and nephews. Juanita was a member of Abundant Life AME Church, Dallas TX (Rev. Dr. Michael W. Waters, Founder and Senior Pastor).
Juanita is survived by her brother, Joseph Perriatt, Jr. (Geraldine) of New Orleans, LA and her sister, Joreaner Stimpson of Garland, TX, four nephews and four nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces, several cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and two older brothers (Charlie and Clarence Jasper).
