

Juanita was born in Lorain, Ohio on June 24, 1930 to Francisco Puente and Ydelfonsa Galvan. She attended Cumberland Hill School and St. Ann’s Catholic School. Juanita worked as an embroidery operator for Factory Sales and R and R Uniform Company many years. Juanita was a caring individual who touched the lives of all who knew her. She married Isaac in 1950 in Bryan, Texas and raised four loving children. She so loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid walker, loved her birthday banana splits, investing in the Texas Lottery (came close one time) and watching telenovelas. We will always remember her beautiful smile.
Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, her loving and faithful husband, Isaac Alva Rodriguez Sr., Brother Julio Puente, Sister Stella Alcala, Brother Alcadio Puente and Brother, Manuel Puente. She is survived by her children Sandra Morales (Joe) Linda Christine Rodriguez, Isaac Alva Rodriguez, Jr. (Justine) and Steven Michael Rodriguez (Edith).
Nani’s grandchildren are Synthia Margaret Trevino (Mario), Stephanie Marie Morales (Robert), Dedrick Eugene Fernandez (Jonna), Sonya Kristine Martinez (Dax), Joseph Michael Morales (Fran), Sarah Elizabeth Rodriguez, Grace Anne Torbeck (Geoff), Michael Jacob Rodriguez, and Cayce Nicole Rodriguez.
Nani’s greatgrandchildren are Cristian Michael Morales (Jordan), Alexa Marie Morales- Hunsaker (Scott), Andrea Garcia (Alex), Josephine Nicole Trevino, Joseph Roman Garcia, Sophia Marie Perez, Isabelle Rose Fernandez, Natalie Rose Trevino, Gabriel James Fernandez, Stella Marian Torbeck and Lucy Amelia Torbeck.
She was blessed with three great greatgrandchildren Riley Isaac Hunsaker, Mabel Rose Hunsaker, and Emily Michelle Vega. She is survived by her Niece, Mary Ann Palacios whom she loved dearly and by many nieces and nephews, friends, and godchildren.
Juanita grew up in Little Mexico. After her mother’s death in 1938, she was raised by her aunt and uncle. The uncle owned and operated a La Estrella panaderia on Harry Hines. She made many lifelong friends and acquaintances while growing up. She shared many stories about life in Little Mexico.
Visitation will be held at Calvary Hill Funeral Home, 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, Texas 75220, on May 11, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with the Rosary at 6:30 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Calvary Hill Main Mausoleum North Chapel on May 12, 2026, at 11:00 am, followed by Interment at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
