

Judge Ladelle Cato, Jr. was born on March 11, 1958, to Arvivian and Judge Ladelle Cato, Sr. in Dallas, Texas. Growing up, Judge attended Dallas schools, graduating from South Oak Cliff High School in 1976, and attended El Centro College to study Architecture. Judge held various jobs including at Dr. Pepper Company, and the United States Postal Service, where he retired from in 2025. In 1980 he married Cynthia R. McCoy and in 1982 they welcomed their only child, Alecia Faye Cato High (Eric). Later in life, Judge joined with Josephine Wagoner, and they remained together until his passing. Judge enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially playing dominoes, chess, singing, and listening to good music. He was gifted at making and refurbishing furniture pieces, turning discarded items into masterpieces. He also enjoyed visiting casinos and even had assigned seating at several locations.
Judge was preceded in death by his parents, Arvivian and Judge Cato, Sr., his wife Cynthia Cato, his step-son Quincy McCoy. Judge took his final rest on May 20, 2026, and leaves behind his only child Alecia Cato High and her husband Eric High; his fiance Josephine Wagoner; his granddaughter Sania Cato and great-granddaughter Sa’Mira Cato; his brother Robert Cato; his sister Ola Mae Cato Hugger; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
Visitation will be held at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6300 South R.L., Dallas, TX 75232, US, on June 5, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will take place at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6300 South R.L., Dallas, TX 75232, US, on June 6, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
Graveside services will be held at Laurel Land Mem Park - Dallas, 6300 S. R.L. Thornton Frwy., Dallas, TX 75232, US, on June 6, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm.
