Judith (Judy) Herbert, 69, of Dallas, Texas passed away on October 10, 2026.
Judy was born in Chicago, IL on January 4th 1957 to Charles Berndt and Barbara Nauert. She graduated from Glenbard East HS in Lombard, IL. Judy was married to Andrew (Andy) Herbert on October 10th 1980; they were married for 46 years.
Judy worked as a Secretary for Stewart Mid America until moving to TX in November 1979. However, her passionate job began in July 1981. That of a devoted mother to her son Brian Followed in 1987 to son James (Jimmy). Judy volunteered at the PTA and was also a Bear Cub Den Mother, soccer coach and team mom. After the boys got older, Judy later went back to work first as a volunteer part time at the front desk at The Waterford Ind Living in Mesquite, Tx. She called herself The Concierge for Seniors. In her spare time Judy enjoyed Arts & Crafts and creating jewelry for family and friends. The Herbert Kentucky Derby Parties were legendary. She also joined the Neighborhood Bunco and Keno (of which she was still involved after multiple years) and more recently Judy joined a LRC and Dallas Athletic Club Monthly Dinner group.
Judy is preceded in death by her mother Barbara and father Charles (Rusty) Berndt and brother David as well as grandparents Ruth & Jake Nauert and Andy’s mother and father Olive and William (Bill).
Judy is survived by her spouse Andrew (Andy) and sons Brian & James (Jimmy) and Brian’s wife Erika and their sons Kayden and Kaleb, (Judy’s Grandchildren were the love of her life) also survived by Judy’s sister Sue (and her spouse Tim) of Illinois and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, friends and family may donate to a charity of their choice in Judy's name.
Services will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2026 at Sacred Heart Mausoleum Chapel, 3900 Rowlett Rd, Rowlett, TX 75088. The viewing will be held at 12:00pm, followed by a Liturgy of the Word at 1:00pm and a private burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
A gathering will be hosted after the service at 3:00 pm at Dallas Athletic Club, 4111 La Prada Dr, Mesquite, Texas, 75150.
